NWS Properties CEO Matt Brawner has overseen the firm since 2011, bringing over 15 years of experience to the administration of property operations across all sites. Brawner’s duties include coaching senior staff, as well as day-to-day assistance with accounting and process development, construction management, and modeling new acquisitions. In his tenure, NWS Properties has evolved significantly; from operating single family homes to managing large apartment communities at scale. In his role as CEO, Brawner uses data to drive decisions, and rewards performance. Prior to NWS, Brawner did development work for a non-profit focused on the development of leadership skills in young men across the country. In his spare time, he cherishes family time and outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and backpacking.

Director of Finance Alex Bauermeister has been with NWS Properties for five years, in property management for nine years, and in finance-related fields for 12 years. Originally, Bauermeister consulted for NWS in his spare time, but was recruited by the executive team to join NWS full time. His duties include “back end” work such as finance and human resources. Bauermeister creates in-house forecasts, and plans and models tracks across all the businesses in the NWS Properties umbrella. Bauermeister approaches his duties with the belief that work is about more than just numbers; knowing motivations, setting meaningful goals, and remembering people matter are what sets he and NWS apart. In his free time Bauermeister appreciates spending time with his wife and son, golfing, and working out.
